Three kinds of work, all of it low voltage, all of it cable that has to run somewhere and terminate properly at both ends.

Telephone wiring

Running new telephone lines, adding extensions and jacks, replacing damaged cable, and tracing faults on existing runs. Older buildings often have decades of accumulated telephone wiring behind the walls, much of it no longer connected to anything.

Whether the system on the end is a traditional analog line or a VoIP handset, the cable, the terminations and the labelling are the same work — and they are what determines whether it keeps working.
Network and structured cabling

Category cable runs for offices, small commercial buildings and homes: drops to desks and equipment, wall plates, patch panels, and tidy termination at the rack or enclosure.

Cable gets labelled at both ends. It is a small amount of extra time during the install and it is the difference between a five-minute diagnosis and an afternoon of tracing later on.
Security cameras

Camera installation and the cabling behind it — coax, power and network runs, and connection back to a DVR or recorder.

Most of the value is in placement and in the cable route. A camera pointed at a bright doorway records a silhouette; cable run where it can be reached is cable that gets cut. Working out those two things on site is the part that matters.
